Brand and product details
This TookyToy set is a 31-piece pretend kitchen in a box, built around foods that come apart. Eggs, carrots, meats, fish, apples, oranges and more are joined with hook and loop, so the wooden knife parts them with a satisfying give and they press straight back together, which is what makes the cutting worth repeating rather than a one-off. The range of foods is wide enough to cook a whole pretend meal instead of chopping the same apple all afternoon. Where it differs from most cutting sets is the storage: a durable plastic carry basket holds everything, and the chopping board doubles as the lid, so the pack-away is quick and the pieces stay together. The foods are crafted from timber and finished in child-safe, non-toxic paint. Slicing develops fine motor control and hand-eye coordination, while naming and preparing the food carries the role play. Suits children from three years.
